More and more young people have diverse roots. In Antwerp, 1 in 3 already has diverse roots. This sometimes creates some challenges in society. The mediation team of the Antwerp Police is in the middle of it. They felt a growing need in the team to better deal with Gen Z. For this assignment, UPOP became the partner to teach knowledge and competences to the team.
Process to teach diversity competences to the entire mediation team of the Antwerp Police Zone. Training on inclusive communication: de-escalating communication, inclusive communicating and understanding young people. Team brought into contact with young people to enter into dialogue and promote understanding between both parties.
